We Found Out Last Week

I was at a meeting one time like that last year, arrived a bit late, and as I was settling in, an older gentleman leaned over and said, “Sam, do you know Todd is expecting a baby?”
Todd, sitting just a few seats away, smiled and said, “Yeah… we found out last week.”

His face lit up. You could see the joy, the surprise, maybe even a bit of nervous excitement. The kind of news that shifts everything inside of you, even if nothing outside has changed… yet.

As i thought about Todd’s announcement it strucked me that nothing had physically changed, but everything had changed. Just hearing that something good is coming was enough to start celebrating. Todd didn’t even know if it’s be a boy or girl but the news alone lit him up. Why? Because hope had entered the room.
It reminded me of Mary. When the angel told her she would give birth to Jesus, she didn’t wait to see a baby bump before praising. She said, “May it be to me as you have said.” (Luke 1:38)

She believed the word was as good as the result.

Sometimes God gives you a promise, not a product. And faith says: “If God said it, it’s already happening.

Reflection: Are you preparing like someone who already received the promise? If not, please start rejoicing as if you’ve received the promise.
