We Cannot Help but Speak
Peter and John were at the temple gate called Beautiful when they healed a man who had been lame since birth — and they did it in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.
Not long after, they were dragged before the most powerful religious leaders — the Sanhedrin. These are the same men who, less than 60 days earlier, sent Jesus to the cross.
And now, they’re looking Peter and John in the eye and telling them to stop talking about Jesus.
But listen to Peter’s response:
“We cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard.”
Acts 4:20
This is the same Peter who denied Jesus three times out of fear. Now he won’t back down.
Why? Because he had encountered the risen Jesus.

Let me ask you today:
When was the last time you encountered Jesus in a way that changed you?
Who have you avoided sharing Jesus with because you're afraid of how they might respond?
Peter’s boldness didn’t come from personality. It came from his encounter with Jesus. He had been with Jesus. And that changes everything.
Verse of the Day: Acts 4:13 When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and took note that these men had been with Jesus.
Prayer: Lord, let my courage come from You.May I live in such a way that people can tell I’ve been with Jesus. Give me boldness to speak not because I’m fearless, but because I know who I’ve encountered.
Song of the Day: Fresh Wind: Hillsong Worship. For when you need heaven to breathe boldness into you again.
