Want God to Answer Your Prayers Quicker? Try This First

When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit.

There are so many reasons why prayers get answered — faith, obedience, persistence. But today, let’s talk about something different. It’s being genuinely happy for someone else’s blessing.
There’s this beautiful moment in Luke 1. Mary, pregnant with Jesus, goes to visit Elizabeth her cousin, who finally got pregnant after years of waiting. As soon as Mary walks in and something powerful happened:

At the sound of Mary’s greeting, Elizabeth’s child leaped within her, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. Luke 1:41

Elizabeth is someone who had waited so long for her own miracle, still bursting with happiness for someone else’s. She did not downplay Mary’s miracle. she just celebrated.

It could be hard watching someone else win while you’re still waiting. You’ve been praying for years for a job, and your friend just landed their dream role. You’re still single, and someone else just got engaged. You’re struggling to conceive, and someone “wasn’t even trying” and now they’re posting their miracle.

Sometimes God is looking at how you react when it’s not your turn.

What if… how you respond in moments like that actually says more than your prayers do?Elizabeth’s response was so beautiful. She didn’t let comparison steal the moment.

“Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the child you will bear! Luke 1:4

Reflection: Ask yourself: Can I celebrate other people’s wins without silently comparing? Can I trust God enough to rejoice, knowing He hasn’t forgotten about me?

Verse of the Day: “Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. Romans 12:15
