Unluckiest moments in the Bible #1

I shivered when I read this story. Very unfortunate indeed. Here’s the story:

John the Baptist, a prominent forerunner of Jesus, met a tragic end at Herod's hands. Herod's wife, Herodias, held a grudge against John for condemning her unlawful marriage. During a banquet, Herod's daughter danced captivatingly, leading to Herod's ill-advised promise to grant her any request. Prompted by her mother, Salome asked for John's head. Reluctantly, Herod was distressed, but because of his oaths and his dinner guests, he ordered that her request be granted. So, his head was brought in on a platter and given to the girl, who carried it to her mother. Matthew 14:8

Consider this: Herod, a flawed human like felt compelled to honor his promise, how much more can we trust in the unwavering faithfulness of God, who is perfect in all His ways? Reflect on the times when God has kept His promises to you. Remember, heaven and earth will pass away, but His words will never pass away.

Call to action: What are you going to ask God today? Take a moment to reflect on your needs, desires, and concerns, and bring them before God in prayer.

I've been glued to all Kari Jobe's song for a bit and here's another one of my favorite. you'll like it.
