True story, big lesson
As he went along, he saw a man blind from birth. His disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?”
“Neither this man nor his parents sinned,” said Jesus, “but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him. Luke 9
Just like the disciples, we often have the misconception that when people are going through storms in their lives, it’s because they’ve done something wrong or are out of the will of God, and that God has left them.
Sometimes, we face situations in life, and God is IN IT.
The disciples thought the man born blind was being punished for his sins:
“Rabbi,” his disciples asked him, “why was this man born blind? Was it because of his own sins or his parents’ sins?”
When people are going through difficult circumstances, don’t judge their situation by outward appearances. If you can’t pray for them, don’t criticize—just walk away. But I encourage you to pray for them instead of walking away.
According to Jesus: “This happened so that the power of God could be seen in him.”
In due time, they’ll testify to the glory of God.
