The time is now

Some days ago, I was reflecting on how sometimes we diminish the efforts of others. This story came to mind from the Bible.

There's a guy named Nehemiah; he was a Jewish leader who served the King of Persia in exile and at some point was fired up to rebuild the ruined wall of Jerusalem. His efforts faced resistance from two top officials named Sanballat (governor) and Tobiah (a top-ranking official). Here's their popular statement during the rebuild: “What do these jews think they are building? 'If even a small fox climbed up on it, he would break down their wall of stones! Nehemiah 4:3-9

Some of us are modern day Sanballat and Tobiah, we undermine the efforts of others. Whether it's dismissing someone's hard work in the workplace or downplaying the gifts God has bestowed upon them, we often fail to recognize and celebrate the achievements of others.

And if you ever find yourself facing opposition or mockery, remember Nehemiah's unwavering determination. Stay focused on your goals and trust in God's guidance to overcome any obstacles in your path.
