- Thy strength indeed is small
Thy strength indeed is small
For a while now, God has been silently reminding me that my strength in Him is not enough on its own. Then — boom — “Jesus Paid It All” showed up on our worship setlist the other day.
I hear the Savior say,
"Thy strength indeed is small,
Child of weakness, watch and pray,
Find in Me thine all in all."
Jesus paid it all,
All to Him I owe;
Sin had left a crimson stain,
He washed it white as snow.

That moment felt like God was underlining something He’d already been trying to tell me your strength is small, but Mine is not. And you're not called to muscle through it; you're called to lean on Me.
I couldn’t help but think of Paul. In 2 Corinthians 12, he talks about pleading with God to remove a "thorn in his flesh." But God’s answer wasn’t healing, it was a reminder
“My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.” (2 Corinthians 12:9)
Paul got it. He stopped trying to be strong on his own and started boasting in his weakness because that’s where God’s strength showed up the most.
Reflection: What if your weakness isn’t a setback, but a setup for grace? Instead of pretending you’re strong, what if you gave God the room to be strong through you?
Prayer: Lord, thank You for reminding me that I don’t have to be strong on my own. Help me to rest in Your strength and grace today. Teach me to surrender, not to strive. Amen.
Verse of the Day: My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.” (2 Corinthians 12:9)
