This is how 911 calls works
Verse of the Day: Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. Romans 10:13
I was on a tour of the 911 call center in 2024. Loved it—such a good experience. I asked the operators a few questions, ranging from “What’s the busiest day for you all?” to how shifts are structured.
But one question stood out:
“Do you respond to all calls—even if the caller is the one at fault?”
The lady smiled and said, “Yes. We respond to all calls… We try to save lives first.”
That answer lingered with me.
As I thought about what the operator said, it reminded me of Jesus—the ultimate Rescuer.
I thought about how often I’ve called on the name of Jesus even when I was the one who got myself into a mess.
I remembered times I cried out in trouble I had created…
And yet, He showed up.
He provided. He rescued. He forgave.
Jesus doesn’t pause to weigh who’s at fault before coming to our aid—He came knowing we were at fault.
And still, He chose the cross. He chose to save us.
Reflection: Have you paused to thank God for rescuing you—even when you were the one who ran toward the fire?
Prayer: Dear Jesus, thank You for never ignoring my cries for help. Thank You for responding even when I’m the one at fault. Thank You for loving me enough to rescue me—again and again.
