This is another remind
There’s a story in the Bible that makes me think deeply every time I read it. It’s about a king named Uzziah. In the beginning, he sought the Lord diligently, and as long as he did, God made him prosper. His fame spread far and wide, and he became powerful. But as his strength grew, he let pride creep in, and he stopped relying on God. Instead of staying close to God during his success, he became distant, and things took a turn for the worse (2 Chronicles 26:16).
Thinking about Uzziah’s story, it’s a reminder of how easy it is to drift away when life is going well. When things are smooth, we often forget our need for God. But the truth is, we need Him just as much in the good times as we do in the struggles.
Normalize getting close to God even when you’re doing well in life. Let your successes draw you nearer, not further away. After all, it’s His grace that got you there in the first place.
Reflection & Action: Think of a time when you felt close to God—was it in a tough season or during a time of success? How can you make sure you’re keeping God at the center, even in the good times?
Take a few moments today to thank Him for your victories and ask for His presence in every season of your life.
