This Bible verse will change your entire day

Verse of the Day: Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,  to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen. Ephesians 3:20

I saw a video that completely stopped me in my tracks.
It was a young man celebrating his birthday. Family and friends gathered, prayers were being spoken over him. You could tell he was already overwhelmed by the love.
Then, quietly, as he stood receiving a blessing, someone gently placed their hands on his shoulders. He turned around…
It was his mom.

She had flown in from another continent just to surprise him. The young man completely broke down, sobbing in his mother’s arms. The caption on the video said:
“Birthday boy thought nothing could top the cake and gifts… until Mom flew in.” And just like that — what was already a great day became unforgettable.

As I watched that video, a voice spoke to me that that’s how God works.
“That’s exactly how God blesses.”
Sometimes, we think we’ve seen all God can do. We’re thankful, genuinely — for what He’s already done. The “cake and gifts” of life: answered prayers, steady work, restored health, friends, family, peace of mind.
And then…BOOM, God shows up in a way we weren’t even expecting.

He places His hand gently on your shoulder. You turn around — and there He is.
A door opens. A healing comes. A word of clarity is spoken. Peace floods your soul. The thing you never dared to ask for becomes your new reality.

That’s the heart of Ephesians 3:20: “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think.

Not just “more” — but exceedingly, abundantly more.
Not just what you asked for but what you didn’t even think to ask.

Reflection: Have you limited your expectations of God lately? Sometimes we box Him into past blessings and assume we’ve seen all He’ll do. But today, take a moment to remember: God is still writing your story. And He’s not finished surprising you.

Verse of the Day: Lord, thank You for every good thing You’ve already done in my life. But today, I open my heart to expect even more — not because I deserve it, but because You are just that good. Thank You that You are able to do exceedingly, abundantly above all I ask or imagine. Help me recognize Your hand, even in the surprises.
