There’s Always That One Person... Don’t Be That Person.
Famine had devastated Samaria. Food was so scarce that people were eating anything to survive. Then, Elisha made a bold prophecy:
"By this time tomorrow, the famine will end. Food will be so cheap; it’ll be as if there was never a shortage." (2 Kings 7:1)
But there’s always that one person. An officer of the king heard this and laughed in disbelief.
"Even if the Lord opened the floodgates of heaven, could this really happen?" he mocked.
Elisha responded with a chilling prophecy:
"You will see it with your own eyes, but you won’t eat any of it."
And sure enough, the next day, the famine ended—but the doubting officer never got to taste the blessing.
There will always be people who doubt what God is doing.
There will always be those who say, "That’s impossible." But the truth is: God doesn’t need human approval to perform miracles.
Be careful not to be that one person—the one who doubts so much that they miss out on what God is doing.
Just because you don’t see how it will happen doesn’t mean God can’t make it happen.
Faith isn’t about seeing first—it’s about believing first.
God’s promises stand firm, whether people believe them or not. Don’t let doubt rob you of what God has already set in motion.
Reflection: Are you believing for something but struggling with doubt? Surrender your skepticism and ask God to help you trust His timing and His power.
