The Wicked Judge

There are a ton of parables in the bible and one of those unpopular parables in the parable of the persistent widow. Here's the parable:
A widow who needed justice against an adversary. She went to a judge in her town, a man who neither feared God nor cared about people. The widow persistently pleaded with him, saying, "Grant me justice against my adversary." For a while, the judge ignored her, but eventually, he thought to himself, "Even though I don’t fear God or care about people, this widow keeps bothering me. I will see that she gets justice, so she won’t eventually wear me out with her coming! Luke 18

The parable of the persistent widow reminds us of something profound: persistence moves the heart of God. Yet, staying consistent can feel like a battle. Thoughts creep in, whispering, "Maybe I’m doing too much," or, "I’ve been consistent all week, skipping one day won’t hurt."

But here’s the truth: the enemy is after your consistency. Why? Because when you stay consistent in the things of God—prayer, worship, and faith—you’re growing stronger spiritually. That’s when the breakthroughs come.

Jesus ends the parable with a challenge: “When the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on the earth?” It’s not just about praying once; it’s about holding on, keeping your faith alive, and trusting that God will answer in His perfect time.

Your persistence is a testament to your faith, and your faith will always bear fruit in due season.

Verse of the Day: Luke 18:1Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up.
