The Perfect Gift

I read about a man on a mission trip to Peru. While on this trip, a young man asked him for money. For security reasons, his team has been instructed not to give out money.
This missionary wanted to help but he couldn’t because of the instructions that has been given.

Then he recalled the response of Peter and John to the lame man in Acts 3.. The missionary explained to him that he couldn’t give him money but could share the good news of Jesus to him. The young man even said he was an orphan and the missionary told him that God wants to be his father which broke him down, gave his life to Jesus, The young man is now a preacher.

Sometimes our words can feel so insufficient, but the Holy spirit can empower us as we share Jesus with others.

When Peter and John came across the man by the beautiful gate, they knew that sharing Christ was the greatest gift ever.
‘Then Peter said, ‘Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk’. The man received salvation and healing that day.

As we search for the perfect gifts to people, remember that the true gift is knowing Jesus and the gift of eternal life He offers.
