The Crowd Is Usually Wrong

There’s something powerful about a crowd. It can give the illusion of truth, safety and momentum. But if you look through Scripture, the crowd almost always gets it wrong.

In Exodus 32, the crowd was tired of waiting on Moses, so they pressured Aaron to build a golden calf. They worshipped a statue just days after being delivered by the living God.

In Matthew 27, the same crowd that had once shouted “Hosanna!” now cried out “Crucify Him!” They chose Barabbas over Jesus.

In the book of Acts, Paul was nearly killed more than once because of the anger and confusion of a crowd. The crowd moves fast, they are usuall;y loud. They want action, NOW.

But God? God speaks in a whisper. He moves with purpose. And He never rushes truth.

So if you ever feel like you’re the only one holding on to truth, GOOD. That might be exactly where God wants you.

We don’t follow crowds, we follow Christ even when it’s lonely, even when it’s unpopular,
Even when it’s unpopular, even when it’s misunderstood.

Reflection: Is there a situation where I’m tempted to follow the crowd instead of Christ?
Where do I need courage to pause and listen for God’s voice instead?

Prayer: Lord, help me not be swayed by popularity or pressure. Give me the courage to follow Your voice, even when it’s the quietest one in the room. Amen.
