Scary

“And the people kept shouting, ‘The voice of a god and not of a man!’ Then immediately an angel of the Lord struck him, because he did not give glory to God. And he was eaten by worms and died.” Acts 12:22–23.

He didn’t murder. He simply accepted praise meant for God. And that was enough for Heaven to say, “No more.”

He didn’t tell them to stop either. And that silence? That silent agreement with the applause? It cost him everything.
Sometimes, we may not openly take God's glory, but we quietly accept the praise and forget to redirect it back to the One who deserves it.

It’s subtle. A compliment here, An applause there, A pat on the back for the promotion, the talent, the opportunity…
But if we’re not careful, pride will creep in dressed as humility.
And before long, we start believing we did it ourselves.

Don’t let praise become poison. Every good and perfect gift comes from above (James 1:17). Deflect the glory—send it right back to where it belongs.

Refelection: Have I gotten too comfortable with glory that isn't mine?

Verse of the Day: I am the Lord; that is My name! I will not yield My glory to another or My praise to idols.” Isaiah 42:8
