Restraining order

I read a man in court who filed a restraining order against God. yes, against God. He claimed God had been ‘unkind and undair’ to him and had exhibited a serious negative attitude.
The judge dismissed the suit, saying the man needed help not from the court but for his mental health.

As i thought about this, i noticed you and I are not different from this ma. We sometimes want to say, ‘stop God, please i’ve heard enough. Job also did that. he put God on trial after enduring unspeakable personal tragedies. he said “But i desire to speal to the Almighty and to argue my case with God. Job 13:3. Job went further by saying “Withdraw your hand far from me, and stop frightening me with you terrors Job 13:21. at another time he argued with God by saying “Does it please you to oppress me, to spurn the work of your hands, while you smile on the plans of the wicked? Job 10:3

Sometimes we feel God is unfair. In truth the story of job is complex, not providing easy answers. God restored Job’s physical fortunes in the end .

Reflection: What occassions have prompted you to ‘take God to court’? Why is it okay for you to ask Hum tough questions?

Prayer: Dear God, i sometimes feel angry about what i’ve had to endure. Please help me help me bring my complaints to you.
