People we don't talk about enough. Part 1

We don’t talk about Barnabas enough.

In Acts 4, the early church was thriving. People shared what they had. The Spirit was moving. And in the middle of it all, one name stood out, Barnabas, the “son of encouragement.”

He didn’t sell everything he owned. He sold a field.
Throughout the New Testament, we see him showing up behind the scenes — recruiting Paul, mentoring young leaders, restoring John Mark (who would later write the Gospel of Mark). Barnabas rarely stood center stage, but the story of the early church doesn’t happen without him.

He didn’t just talk about faith, he lived it. Quietly. Consistently. Encouraging people when they were down. Fanning the flames of what God was already doing.

Maybe today, God’s not asking you to part the sea. Maybe He’s simply asking you to be a Barnabas.
A text, a prayer, a reminder,a small act with eternal reach.
You never know who’s waiting for someone like you to show up.

Reflection: Who in your life needs a Barnabas right now? Who could be one divine nudge away from hope? You may not feel like the “main character,” but you might just be the miracle in someone else’s story.

Prayer: Lord, help me live with eyes open and to notice who needs encouragement and to step in boldly. Use my words, time, and presence to lift others up in Your name.

Verse of the Day : “He was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and faith, and a great number of people were brought to the Lord.”

Song of the Day: Available by Elevation Worship. A reminder to say yes to being used, even in small ways.
