One of the most touching stories in the Bible

One of the most touching stories in the Bible, and one of Jesus’ most human moments, was when He was in the Garden of Gethsemane. In Luke 22:42, He prayed, "Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; nevertheless, not my will but yours be done." In His deepest agony, Jesus made a powerful choice: to surrender His will to the Father’s, even when it meant facing the cross.

We often find ourselves in difficult situations, asking God to take the burdens away. But just like Jesus, we are called to surrender, to trust in God’s perfect plan. It’s not easy to let go, especially when we want relief or answers right away. Yet, surrendering to God’s will is an act of faith—believing that He is in control, even when we don’t understand.

When we give up control and hand our lives over to Him, we make space for God to work in ways beyond our imagination. It’s a step of trust, knowing that His plan is far greater than anything we could come up with ourselves.

As you reflect today, ask yourself: What parts of your life do I need to release into God’s hands? He is God by Himself, and He knows what's best, even when we can't see it. Let go and let Him take the lead.

Reflection Question: What are you holding onto that God is asking you to surrender?
