One of the Biggest Lies Christians Tell
One of the most popular phrases Christians say is, "I'm praying for you," or "I will pray for you." While it’s well-intentioned, how often do we actually follow through? It's a gentle reminder to ask ourselves: Are we just saying it because it sounds comforting, or are we truly committing to interceding for others?
If you can’t pray for someone, don’t say you’ll pray for them. Words matter, especially when it comes to promises about prayer. Instead of empty words, take a moment—right then and there—to say a short prayer, even if it’s silent. Remember, prayer doesn’t have to be long to be effective. A heartfelt, "Lord, help them in their time of need," goes a long way.
Let’s strive to be people of integrity in our words and actions. If we commit to prayer, let’s honor that commitment and take it seriously.
Reflection: Today, ask yourself: How often do I follow through on my promise to pray for someone?
Verse of the Day: Let your 'Yes' be 'Yes,' and your 'No,' 'No'; anything beyond this comes from the evil one." (Matthew 5:37)
Song of the Day: What a Friend We Have in Jesus – A timeless hymn reminding us of the power of prayer and the privilege of bringing everything to God.
