New Post

My wife and I traveled alongside some awesome people from church last week. On the plane, there was an announcement no one wants to hear in the middle of a flight: "Is there any doctor on this flight?" My sleepy eyes suddenly became wide open. I saw three men go to the back of the plane. Doctors I assumed + there was an incident, but luckily, it was resolved.

As we embarked from the plane and waited for the next flight, I asked my wife if she heard the announcement. She looked at me with a somewhat confused stare—the "what is he talking about?" stare—and responded by saying, "Hmmm, I did not hear that announcement." I asked one of our traveling friends, and he said, "Yes, Sam, that was scary. No one knows what was wrong."

My wife sat next to me. We were on the same plane but had two different experiences. Why was that? My wife was super exhausted before we boarded and reclined her seat right after takeoff. She usually prays and goes to sleep. Whereas I was awake and experienced the whole announcement.

As I thought about the whole thing, I felt I would have been better off sleeping and resting on the plane, just like Jesus did when He was sleeping in the boat and the disciples came to ask Him if He did not care that they perish because of the storms they were experiencing.

You can surely be in a difficult situation, yet rest in Christ, and that will give you a completely different experience. Jesus, in His word, said:

The storms were real, that was the reality, but inviting (Doctors) Jesus into our turbulent situation gives Him a chance to speak His peace into our affairs. We can’t control the weather, but we can rely on the one who can speak to the storms and they cease. One last thing was, there was a great calm. I want to invite you to always invite Jesus into your situation. Find out what He says about it. I can guarantee you that when Jesus speaks into your situation, you will experience a great calm in Jesus' name.

Verse of the Day: ‘And Jesus arose and rebuked the wind and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased and there was a great calm.’ Mark 4:39
