Never do this in the storm

DO NOT RUN FROM THE STORM

I was speaking with someone whose uncle was a sailor and the uncle was a sailor, and I learnt a lesson I'll like to share today.👇

The uncle, an experienced sailor, told him that when they're out at sea and read a storm is coming behind them, the captain takes the next step to deal with the storm. Instead of letting the storm overtake them, they turn the ship around to face it head-on. This approach ensures they don’t get caught by surprise. He does not allow the storm to run into him, but sails into the storm.

The little story taught me that many of us find ourselves being caught unaware in life by turning our backs to the storms of life rather than facing them and dealing with them with God assisting us. As I thought about this sailor-Storm I remember one of our devotionals about eagles - how they also face storms, ride into the storms and use the raging storm as a launching pad to soar higher.

Verse of the Day: Isaiah 49:29-30 He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary and young men stumble and fall, but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles, they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not faint.

Tomorrow, we will talk about how to face the storm.
