How to Keep Going When Life Throws you Into a Pit

I read about a poor; pitiful donkey that fell into the well, and the farmer heard this donkey crying. The farmer debated whether or not to get him out. The well was deep, and it was going to be a lot of hard work, and the donkey was old anyway and not worth too much, so maybe I'll just bury him and let it go. So, he went and got a bunch of friends and said, "Let's just bury him. Help me shovel some dirt in there so he'll shut up that crying, he's an old donkey.

Maybe you’re in a pit right now, and somebody is shoveling dirt on you. What are you going to do about it? Well, the donkey’s down there, and he’s crying out pitifully, and they’ll pour a shovel full of dirt, then another and another, and it would hit his back. The more dirt they poured on the donkey, the closer he was getting to the top. The dirt helped him get to the top and out of the pit. ALL THOSE PEOPLE SHOVELING DIRT ON HIM HELPED HIM GET OUT OF THE PIT.

Reflect on this: You may not know this, but just like Joseph and even this donkey, the people that are giving you the most problems may be helping you more than anybody grow up in God.

Verse of the Day: Psalm 34:17. The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles.
