It's peter again

Last night, something so powerful struck me while reading the story of Peter walking on water.

Peter saw Jesus out there, braving the storm, and with shaky faith, he stepped out of the boat. But as soon as he looked at the raging waves, fear overwhelmed him, and he started sinking.

In his desperation, Peter cried out three words, “Lord, save me!”

And in that moment, Jesus didn’t rebuke him for doubting or let him flounder. He didn’t turn away because Peter was afraid. No, Scripture says, “Immediately, Jesus reached out His hand.”

How many times have we felt that same fear? We think that if we panic, we must lack faith—that maybe God is disappointed in us for being scared.

But Peter’s story shows: God doesn’t turn away when we’re afraid. He’s not looking for perfect courage or unshakable confidence. He’s looking for us to turn back to Him, even in our fear.

Trust isn’t a feeling—it’s a choice. It’s deciding, in the face of overwhelming evidence, to believe that God will still come through.

When Peter was sinking, Jesus didn’t hesitate. He reached out immediately. That’s the kind of Father we have—ready to grab hold of us as soon as we call.

Reflection: Where in your life do you feel like you’re sinking? Today, choose to cry out to Him, even if it’s through fear or doubt. Let your heart say, “Lord, I’m scared, but I’m still looking to You.”

Verse of the Day: Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him.” — Matthew 14:31.

I pray for you today—that in whatever storm you face, your miracle will come immediately. As soon as you call, may you feel His hand reaching out to pull you up.

You just know I’ll drop this YouTube link until I’m tired of the soothing sound.
