It all makes sense

Nehemiah 8:10 reminds us, "Do not be grieved, for the joy of the Lord is your strength." When joy is missing, so is strength. That's why King David cried out, “Restore to me the joy of your salvation” (Psalm 51:12). The enemy knows that when he steals our joy, he weakens our spiritual strength. Joy isn't just an emotion; it’s a spiritual force that helps us overcome challenges.

King David often commanded his soul to praise God, even in times of despair. He didn’t wait for the perfect moment—he praised through the sorrow. In the same way, Apostle Paul urges us to "Rejoice in the Lord always" (Philippians 4:4). Sometimes we have to push through sadness by choosing praise, even when it feels unnatural. Joy isn't a feeling we wait for; it's something we actively pursue through praise and worship.

Reflection: Are there areas in your life where you need to choose joy despite circumstances?
