If Simon didn’t say it, don’t move

A few days ago, I overheard my wife playing “Simon Says” with our son. You know how the game goes — if Simon says, “Touch your head,” you do it. But if Simon doesn’t say it, and you do it anyway, you’re out.
I watched my son try so hard to get it right — but there were times he missed the “Simon says” cue and got eliminated. And it hit me…
That’s how we treat God sometimes. We only move when it sounds fun. We hesitate when obedience feels inconvenient. Or worse — we follow our own version of what God said, not what He actually said. God is not playing games — but obedience still matters. Not just partial obedience. Not delayed obedience. Not “I kinda think God said this” obedience. In
1 Samuel 15:22, Samuel said,

“To obey is better than sacrifice.”

King Saul lost his throne not because he hated God — but because he partially obeyed Him. That’s not obedience, that’s disobedience in disguise.

I'll admit this is hard, but when God gives you an instruction, follow it completely — not because He’s controlling, but because His words lead to life. Reflection: Have I been fully obeying God's last instruction — or just the parts that felt comfortable?

Verse of the Day: “If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land.” — Isaiah 1:19
Prayer: Lord, help me not to treat your word like a suggestion. Give me the heart to obey You fully — even when it’s not convenient. Amen.

Song of the Day: “Yes” by Shekinah Glory – A worship anthem of surrender and obedience.

NB: I just launched a brand-new YouTube channel called BibleOriginals — where I share calm, cinematic Bible stories that help you reflect (or even fall asleep to).

📌 My latest video is: “The Last 24 Hours of Jesus”
Even though Easter is over, this story still speaks.
