I just saw a guy on facebook

Saw a guy on Facebook playing one of his songs on, guess what—a cassette player! At some point, he flipped the tape from side A to side B. Someone commented, "Wow, I haven’t seen a cassette player in years… Aww, nostalgia.

As I thought about the guy and the comment, I realized how much we can get caught up in the "new." Technology changes fast, and sometimes we forget the simple joys of the past. But it’s in moments like these that we remember: the old still has value. The things we once thought were outdated, like that cassette tape, can still bring meaning and beauty when we pause long enough to appreciate them.

Just like God’s promises—they might seem old, but they never lose their power. They still stand strong, even when the world moves on to something new. It’s not about what’s new or old, but about the faithfulness of what remains.
