This is what happens to us

I joined a bible connect group last night and the facilitator was talking about psalm 1. Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers.

Reminds me of a story I read where a farmer walked into his farm and saw one of his goats lying down and putting its head on a ram. This goat used the ram as a pillow, and they were just chilling. In the animal world, no matter how different the species are, if you put them in the same space long enough, they will drop all their attacks on each other, and they will start to tolerate each other. Eventually, some will even bond. They will get tired of fighting and just be distant. Give them more time, and they will start strolling close. Give them even more time, and they will start lying close by each other.

This is what happens to us. First, you feel disgusted; then you shrug and start adjusting. BOOM, you're comfortable, and you know the rest of the story. Check who you spend time around, check your inner circle, check your communication.

Verse of the Day: Psalm 1:1 Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way of sinners.

I woke up to this song. Amazing Grace, My Chains are gone.
