Don't miss your path

I read about a cyclist who noticed a man riding ahead of him and decided to overtake him. The cyclist pushed himself harder and faster, feeling victorious when he finally passed the man. However, in his rush to win, he realized he had missed his turn by half a mile. He had spent all his energy competing with someone who didn’t even know they were in a race, and in doing so, he lost sight of his own path.

As I thought about this, Galatians 6:4 came to mind: ‘Each one should test their own actions. Then they can take pride in themselves alone, without comparing themselves to someone else.’ God wants us to focus on our work and path, not on others. My admonition today is to focus on your own journey. If we spend too much time competing, we risk missing out on the unique path to our own destinies.

Verse of the Day: Galatians 5:26. Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other.
