Don't fall for this scam

I got an email the other day that made me laugh.

It read: "This is not the first time we’ve tried to reach you. Your case number has been flagged as TIME SENSITIVE. Our records indicate you may be eligible for student loan forgiveness under the new 2025 guidelines. We attempted to reach you at home, but no response was received. FINAL WARNING. This case is set to close, and we cannot hold your file open any longer. Call immediately to confirm your eligibility before your case is closed. If you do not act, the system will assume you have chosen to decline your benefits and will remove your eligibility status."

I could smell five different red flags in that email from a mile away. Scammers really need to up their game.

It’s easy to spot an email scam, but what about spiritual deception?

Satan is the master manipulator. He doesn’t show up with horns and a pitchfork—he comes disguised as truth.
Eve fell for a spiritual scam in Genesis 3 when the serpent twisted God’s words.
Even Jesus was tempted in the wilderness when Satan used out-of-context Scripture to deceive Him. (Matthew 4:1-11)

So, ask yourself:

  • Have you ever believed something just because a “man of God” said it, without checking Scripture?

  • Have you felt pressured into giving money or making a decision in the name of faith?

  • Do you chase signs and wonders over sound doctrine?

False teachings don’t always come from obvious frauds. They come subtly—in places and from people who sound convincing but don’t align with the Word.
If Satan used Scripture (out of context) to tempt Jesus, don’t think he won’t use it to manipulate you.

Verse of the Day: Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world." — 1 John 4:1
