- Curse God and die.
Curse God and die.
There’s something about pain that makes people say things they don’t mean. Job had lost everything—his wealth, his children, his health. He was sitting in ashes, scraping his sores, when his wife looked at him and said, “Curse God and die.” (Job 2:9).
It wasn’t just an insult—it was frustration, grief, and hopelessness speaking. She had seen their life crumble overnight, and in her despair, she thought, What’s the point of still holding on to faith?
But Job didn’t take the bait. Instead, he responded, “Shall we accept good from God, and not trouble?” (Job 2:10). His faith was not based on circumstances—it was rooted in who God is.
Curse God and die.” Maybe we don’t say it outright, but have you ever thought: God, why are You letting this happen? Pain has a way of testing what we truly believe. Some walk away from God when life doesn’t go their way. Others, like Job, hold on—knowing that even in the storm, God is still God.
When life gets rough, don’t let frustration push you away from Him. The enemy wants you to give up your faith right before the breakthrough. But hold on. Trust. Keep believing.
Reflection: What’s your response when life gets hard? Is your faith tied to what God gives, or is it rooted in who He is?
