Carry each other’s burdens,

The Israelites and the Amalekites fought many battles in the Bible, but one stands out in a remarkable way. During this particular battle, as long as Moses held his hands up, the Israelites were winning. But whenever he lowered his hands, the Amalekites began to prevail.

As the battle raged on, Moses grew tired. Seeing his struggle, Aaron and Hur came to his side. They placed a stone under him so he could sit and then held his hands up—one on each side. Together, they kept his hands steady until sunset, leading to victory for the Israelites (Exodus 17:8-13).

As I thought about Moses and the battle, one thing stood out: even the strongest leaders need support. Moses was chosen by God, but he still grew tired. His strength alone wasn’t enough to ensure victory—it took the help of Aaron and Hur to keep him steady.
Sometimes, we try to carry the weight of life all on our own, thinking we have to do it all. But God places people in our lives to support us, just as He placed Aaron and Hur for Moses. And here’s the other truth: while Moses held his hands up in obedience, it was God who ensured the victory.
Are you trying to fight battles alone? Don’t be afraid to lean on the people God has placed in your life. And don’t forget the power of prayer and surrender—it’s God who ultimately brings the victory.

Reflection: Who has God placed in your life to help you in your battles? Take a moment today to thank God for them and to lean on His strength.
